Kids Ocean Day. Thu., June 7, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Mike Thompson Wildlife Area, South Spit Humboldt Bay, South Jetty Road, Loleta. Ocean Day is a statewide marine debris education program funded the California Coastal Commission. About 800 Humboldt County students will receive classroom lessons focusing on coastal and marine environments. At the event, the students will gather at the South Spit of the Humboldt Bay for a day of beach clean-up and invasive plant removal.
