Sunrise at the Refuge

When: Sat., March 5, 6 a.m. and Sun., March 6, 6 a.m. 2016

Formerly the Aleutian Cackling Geese Fly-Off. The gate will open at 5:45 a.m. View the habitats of southern Humboldt Bay at sunrise and watch thousands of Aleutian cackling geese fly off their night time roosts. The fly-off usually occurs within 15 minutes before or after sunrise. Sunrise will be at 6:21 a.m. View the wildlife and wetland habitats of southern Humboldt bay and enjoy family fun activities inside the visitor center from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interpretive guides will be available along the trail.
