As part of the Sustainable Futures Speaker Series, Dr. Traci Brynne Voyles will present a webinar on “The Settler Sea: California’s Salton Sea and the Consequences of Colonialism.” Registration link below. Voyles is associate professor and chair of Women’s and Gender Studies at University of Oklahoma. She works in the fields of environmental history, environmental justice, Indigenous studies, feminist theory, and critical race studies. She has authored "The Settler Sea: California’s Salton Sea and the Consequences of Colonialism" and "Wastelanding: Legacies of Uranium Mining in Navajo Country," and is currently writing an environmental history of childbirth in 20th century U.S.
