Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

‘Taiko Swing’ Performance Informational Meeting

When: Tue., Aug. 27, 5:30-7:30 p.m. 2019

College students and the public are invited to learn about how to get involved with Swingposium On the Road, a live dance and music performance by San Jose Taiko coming to Humboldt in January 2020. Come to an informational meeting on Tuesday, August 27, 5:30-7:30 P.M., in the HSU Library Fishbowl (Room 209). Swingposium is a living history tribute to big band music and swing dance set in a mess hall at a WWII Japanese American incarceration camp, that was a source of hope to internees. Taiko Swing Humboldt, sponsored by the Humboldt Folklife Society, is presenting five performances locally, and seeking young dancers for the swing dance reenactment in the camps. For more information, email [email protected] or call (707) 633-3155.
