Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

The Amanita Before Christmas

When: Fri., Dec. 20, 7:30 p.m. 2019

College of the Redwoods professor Maria Morrow will read a whimsical yet educational seasonal tale, “The Amanita Before Christmas.” As the winter solstice approaches, we bring trees inside and presents begin popping up under them like little mushrooms. Stories of a man who comes down the chimney and rides away on flying reindeer fill our hearts with cheer instead of fear. Maria-- who teaches biology, botany, and environmental science at CR--will share one possible explanation for these strange behaviors to the tune of a classic poem. Hot mulled cider and cookies will be provided; please bring your own mug/cup. Seating is limited to the first 50 attendees, on a first-come, first-served basis. Call the Interpretive Center at (707) 826-2359 with any questions.
