“The Humboldt County Probation Department,” by Megan Gotcher. Megan has worked for the Humboldt County Probation Department for seventeen years. She worked as a Juvenile Corrections Officer at the Regional Facility Program and as an adult Probation Officer in the Hoopa Valley area. Megan was able to work with the Hoopa Tribal Court, Fugitive Apprehension Team, Gang Task Force, Parole, Hoopa Tribal Police, Yurok Tribal Police, United Indian Health Services, and the Sheriff's Department. She was promoted to Senior Probation Officer working in the Juvenile Field Unit on a grant funded program with Children Family Services and the Court. Megan and Children Family Services Social Workers have made presentations at Beyond the Bench and the California Mental Health Advocates for Children and Youth Conference. Currently she is employed as the Juvenile Field Supervisor and facilitates Effective Practices in Community Supervision, Anger Control Training, Officer Safety Training, and is the Evidence Technician.
