Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

The "King of Instruments": History, Science, and Music of the Pipe Organ

When: Sun., Aug. 27, 4-5 p.m. 2017

Join us for a “Sundays at 4” lecture/demonstration on “The King of Instruments." Have you wondered how a pipe organ is built and how it works? Or just how an organist navigates all of those keyboards, buttons, knobs, and pedals? The program, presented by Merry Phillips, will provide a brief history and a “virtual tour” of the organ pipes at Christ Church, and illustrate the magnificent features of this instrument Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart called the “King of Instruments.” Musical examples showcasing the diverse sounds a pipe organ makes(with the help of the organist) will be included.
