While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta: Nature, Culture and Conservation

When: Fri., April 13, 7:30-9 p.m. 2018

Redwood Region Audubon Society is sponsoring this talk by Dr. Jeff Hart on one of California’s most controversial regions and the hub of California’s water supply, the “Delta.” The Delta is an important but little-known area of meandering sloughs and fragile levees where industrial agriculture and declining fisheries vie for precious water coveted by special interests throughout the state. Jeff will narrate the Delta's complex history, including early settlement, the impact of land “reclamation,” the endless water battles, recent “fixes” and the ethical and cultural issues underlying environmental conflict resolution.
