Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Theater Against Sex Trafficking Fundraiser

When: Fri., July 1, 6:30 p.m. 2016

Local anti-sex trafficking organization Game Over hosts this fundraiser for the educational play Jane Doe in Wonderland. The evening features a film screening of the original play followed by survivor talkback. More information can be found at www.janedoeinwonderland.com or by e-mailing janedoeinwonderlandplay@gmail.com. Written by Dell’Arte MFA graduates and first staged in March 2016, Jane Doe in Wonderland aims to prevents sex trafficking of local youth through education. The play draws parallels between the well-known story Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and how young men and women are lured into the world of sex-trafficking—a world that exists right here in Humboldt County. “Jane Doe” is unique in how it addresses a difficult subject in a way that is accessible for a teen audience. All funds raised at this event go towards touring “Jane Doe in Wonderland” to Humboldt County High Schools in the Spring of 2017. Join us as we continue to raise awareness and education about the crucial issue of sex trafficking in our community.
