The Ferndale Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW Auxiliary is sponsoring their 50th Veteran’s Craft Bazaar at the Ferndale Veteran’s Hall, 1100 Main St. Ferndale, CA 95536 on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, November 27, 2021 - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crafts range from Country Primitive through incredible - one never knows what will be on the next table - but it will be amazing. This post-Thanksgiving event is a 50-year shopping tradition in the Cream City. Originally called “The Folks Craft Sale,” the event was used to have both Mother’s Day and Black Friday sales each year, some were held at the Portuguese Hall, others at the Masonic Lodge and more than a few in the former Vets Hall, upstairs over the Golden Gait Mercantile. By any name, the event was founded in 1970 by Lucille Tunzini and Donell McCanless, both tireless crafters of cloth, yarn and wood. The famous “Ida’s Sweet Rolls” were sold for many years.
