Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Women & Girls Birding Walk at Elk River Wildlife Sanctuary

When: Sat., March 5, 9-11 a.m. 2022

Join Redwood Region Audubon Society walk leader Jude Power for a guided birding walk along the shore of the Elk River estuary. We'll look for shorebirds, such as Marbled Godwit and Least Sandpiper and a variety of gulls. In the willows we'll look for sparrows, chickadees, finches, and possibly some active Yellow-rumped Warblers. We’ll be keeping an eye to the sky for Bald Eagle or hawks on the wing. Please note that there are no public facilities and be sure to bring a windbreaker. For reservations and meeting location, contact Janelle.
