Is it me, or is the Pierson Building Center full-page "Celebrating Local History" ad (Aug. 27) insensitive at best, or blatantly promoting Blue Lives Matter? Are we expected to "celebrate" the harrowing image of five men on horses above a caption which references officers "chosen for their size and ability to fight rather than their experience," while much of the country protests the unjust murders of Black people at the hands of modern-day police? Maybe this was just in poor taste but it certainly will make me think twice before I shop at Pierson's again.
