— Dana Silvernale thought Heidi Walter’s piece about Marsh Commons was “sarcastic” and “offensive” (“Mailbox,” Dec. 18). I think that Heidi was both respectful and neutral in her portrayal of our playful dinner banter -- sarcasm and offense included.
When a good reporter quotes a person in a news story, that quote does not reflect the opinions of the reporter or the newspaper. Maybe Dana didn’t like what Bob Tucker said, but that’s certainly not the Journal’s problem. While Walters interviewed us, she was humble and careful to write down exactly what each of us said. I just hope next time she stays to eat with us. By making a fuss about the last line in the article, Dana “discredited” my apple crisp!
And Dana, once you get used to Bob, he’s actually quite funny.
